Audrey Tautou
Audrey Tautou was born in Beaumont in the French city of Puy-de Domme on August 9 1976 the oldest of four children. She was encouraged by her parents, a dentist and a teacher who were both teachers to pursue her passion for the theatre. This contrasted her earlier ambition to be a primatologist due to the fact that she was a fan of monkeys. The rise of her as a young actress was rapid and accompanied by early success. When she graduated in 1998, her studies, she was able to take part in Jeunes Premiers an French television talent-scouting program that was sponsored by Canal+. There she won the award for Best Young Actress at the Beziers Festival of Young Actors. The result was that she decided to begin her acting profession. Tautou was educated at Institut Catholique de Paris, went to church as a young girl and was educated Catholic. She has now distanced herself with her Catholic upbringing. As well as her acting profession, she pursued a modeling career. It is her turn to be the face of L'Oreal Mont Blanc & Chanel and is sometimes referred to as the Chanel Muse. Recently, at Arles Arts Festival, Arles Arts Festival, she displayed the collection of her photographs with the title Superficial. Her photographs focuses primarily on celebrity and the spotlight. The camera is turned on journalists who examined her during her rise to the heights of fame in Amelie. Audrey Tautou shot to stardom as well as international recognition with her debut role as the lead in Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie Poulain. Amelie has been a box office hit internationally and praised at many award shows around the world. It is currently the most successful French language movie on the market in US. After this film's success, Tautou appeared in numerous film productions ranging including British dramas such as Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things to Jean-Pierre Jeunet's Long Sunday de fiancailles and moving into Hollywood with Ron Howard's direction of the Dan Brown bestseller The Da Vinci Code alongside Tom Hanks.
